Using Your Org Chart in Bloom Growth

The Org Chart in Bloom Growth is more than just a visual hierarchy, it's a powerful, interactive tool that helps you maintain alignment, clarity, and accountability across your organization. In this article, we’ll walk you through how to access and use the Org Chart effectively to manage seats, assign responsibilities, and reflect real-time structural updates.

Accessing the Org Chart

To access your Org Chart in Bloom Growth:

  1. Click the Tools tab from the left navigation bar.

  2. Select Org Chart from the dropdown menu.

You’ll be taken to a visual representation of your organization’s structure. From here, you can expand or collapse levels, adjust the zoom, and use the “Print visible” option to export the current view.

Interacting with the Org Chart

Each box on the Org Chart represents a seat. When you click on a box, a panel will open on the right side of the screen with editable details for that seat. This is where you can manage seat-specific information.

Edit Seat Details: Assign People, Roles, Functions, and Supervisors

Once the panel opens on the right, you’ll be able to:

  • Edit the Seat Title: Change the label or title of the position to reflect the role clearly.

  • Assign Employee(s) to the Seat: Add one or more team members using the dropdown list.

  • Define Roles: Add multiple roles that summarize what the person in this seat is responsible for. These roles are written in short, clear phrases that represent the most important functions of that seat.

  • Mark as Department Head: Check the box if this person leads their department.

  • Assign a Supervisor – At the bottom of the panel, choose who this seat reports to.

If you have admin rights, you can drag and drop roles to reorder them, remove roles using the trash icon, and add new ones using the + Add role option.

All changes are automatically saved in real time, there’s no need to click a save button.

Make Structural Changes

In addition to editing seats, you can also:

  • Add new seats using the "+ Add Seat" option at the top right of the screen.

  • Reorganize the chart by dragging and dropping seats under new supervisors, or simply by assigning a new supervisor from the seat’s edit panel, without needing to move the box manually.

  • Remove seats that are no longer needed by clicking the three-dot menu and selecting delete.

Why Keep the Org Chart Updated?

Keeping your Org Chart current helps:

  • Provide visibility into reporting lines and team structures.

  • Clarify responsibilities and ownership.

  • Align your team on who’s doing what, and who reports to whom.

  • Enable proper meeting visibility, goal ownership, and permissions throughout the platform.
