In Bloom Growth, you have the flexibility to create and manage your Business Plan across versions. This article walks you through how to copy (transfer) a Business Plan and what to expect after doing so.
How does the “Transfer Business Plan” option work?
When you click “Transfer Business Plan”, the system copies your current Business Plan from the Legacy version to Better Bloom.
However, it's important to note that this is not a live sync. Once the Business Plan is copied, both versions become independent, meaning:
-
Updates made in one version will not reflect in the other.
-
You are essentially working with two separate Business Plans after the copy is made.
Watch this quick walkthrough to see how it works step by step:
Best Practices
-
Once you transfer (copy) the Business Plan to the new version of Bloom Growth, we recommend working on one version only to avoid confusion or misalignment.
- To keep things clean, consider archiving the older plan if it's no longer being updated, or simply continue working only in the new version of Bloom Growth.
Adding a New Business Plan:
When you select Add a Business Plan, a pop-up window will appear with the option to Choose a meeting to create a business plan.- Click Business Plan from the left-side navigation bar.
- Select Add a Business Plan
- Hit "Create a new Business Plan"
- Select the meeting from the drop-down menu.
- Hit the "Create" option
The Future Focus page which includes the following:
- Core Values
- Focus
- BHAG
- 3-Year Vision
- Marketing Strategy
The Short-Term Focus page located next to the Future Focus which includes:
- 1-Year Goals
- Quarterly Goals
- Long-Term Issues List.
Sharing a Business Plan
To make your Business Plan visible to everyone in your organization:
-
Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner of the Business Plan page.
-
Toggle on “Share plan with org.”
This option allows all users in the organization to view the plan, even if they are not part of the meeting where the plan was created.
Note: Only users with admin permissions in the meeting can enable or disable this setting.
Replace Future Focus Section
In Bloom Growth, each Business Plan has two pages:
-
Future Focus Page: Includes long-term strategic elements like Core Values, Focus, BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal), 3-Year Vision, and Marketing Strategy.
-
Short-Term Focus Page: Includes more tactical items like the 1-Year Goals, Quarterly priorities, and Long-term Issues.
While your organization can have multiple Business Plans (for different meetings or departments), there can only be one Core Values section that is shared across the entire organization.
All the Meetings can have their own customized Future Focus page, meaning they can define their own Focus, BHAG, 3-Year Vision, and Marketing Strategy independently.
However, when you enable the “Replace Future Focus” toggle from the Business Plan menu:
The Future Focus page from the main org-level Business Plan will automatically replace the Future Focus page for all other Business Plans across the organization.
This helps maintain consistency and alignment across teams, especially when rolling out a unified vision or long-term strategy.
Note: This only affects the first page of the plan (Future Focus), not the Short-Term Focus page.
Presentation Mode and Edit Mode
-
Presentation Mode: This view-only mode lets users review the business plan without making changes. Users without editing permissions will only have access to this mode and won’t see the option to switch to Edit Mode.
Edit Mode: Available exclusively to users with admin rights within the meeting. This mode allows full control over editing and customizing the business plan.
Editing and Managing the Business Plan
- Editing Terms: Users with admin rights within the meeting can edit terms by double-clicking the titles in the business plan.
- Hiding/Unhiding Tiles: While tiles cannot be removed, they can be hidden. To make a tile visible again, click the three dots at the top right of the business plan and select the hidden tile to display it.
- Duplicating Tiles: You also have the ability to duplicate tiles if needed.
Accessing and Managing Departmental Business Plans
Departmental Business Plans are no longer located in the Edit Meeting section. In Better Bloom, you now have multiple ways to access and manage these plans, all designed for better visibility and ease of use.
1: From the Meeting Agenda Page
-
Click Meetings from the left navigation bar.
-
Click the name of the meeting.
-
On the left side of the screen, click the three dots located next to the meeting’s time.
-
Select “View your Business Plan.”
Note:
If the Business Plan hasn’t been transferred from Legacy yet, the system will show “Attach Business Plan” instead of “View.” This action copies the Departmental Plan from Legacy into Better Bloom — once copied, it becomes independent from the original.
2: From the Meetings List View
-
Click Meetings from the left navigation bar.
-
Hover your mouse over the meeting name.
-
Move your cursor to the right and click the three dots that appear.
-
Click “View your Business Plan.”
3: From the Main Business Plan Section
-
Click Business Plan from the left navigation bar.
-
Click the drop-down arrow next to the Business Plan title at the top of the screen.
-
Under “Your Plans,” select the name of the Business Plan you want to view.
This method is especially useful for quick navigation and comparing multiple plans.
Managing Issues and Goals in the Business Plan
- Context-Aware Issues and To-Dos: Users with admin permissions within the meeting can create context-aware issues and to-dos directly from the business plan.
- Long-Term Issues: If issues are deleted from the Business Plan, they are automatically moved to the main meeting archive.
- Quarterly Goals: The ability to edit quarterly goals is now available in the business plan, allowing you to track progress more efficiently.
Additional Features
- Drag and Drop Functionality: Users with admin permissions within the meeting can drag and drop tiles, and resize across the entire business plan to reorganize it. This feature is new and allows more flexibility in arranging your plan.
- Notes for Long-Term Issues: Notes added to long-term issues are visible to all users, promoting transparency across the organization.
