Creating and Removing Texting Actions for Headlines, Issues and To-dos


Texting Actions in Bloom Growth is a convenient way to send Issues, To-Dos, and Headlines directly to your meetings via SMS. This feature allows you to quickly capture important items on the go and ensures they are added to your Weekly Meeting agenda.

Important Considerations

  • Each team member must enable their own Texting Actions individually.
  • Only one phone number can be assigned per texting action.
  • Canadian users: Please note that our available numbers are U.S.-based and may incur additional charges.
  • U.S. users have 11 available numbers, Australian users have 2 numbers, and Canadian users have 4 numbers to distribute across different meetings.

Setting Up Text Actions in Better Bloom

  1. Click Meetings List from the left navigation bar.
  2. Click the three dots next to the meeting where you want to enable Texting Actions.
  3. Click Edit Meeting and select Texting Actions.
  4. From this section, choose one of the available numbers.
  5. Decide which item type you want to send via SMS—To-Do, Issue, or Headline.
  6. Click Save. The system will generate a unique code.
  7. From your phone, send the unique code to the number you selected.
  8. You will receive a confirmation message once the number is enabled.
  9. Once enabled, you can start sending the chosen item directly to your Weekly Meeting via SMS.

Managing Texting Actions

If you need to review or update your Texting Actions, follow these steps:

  1. Click your name from the left navigation bar.
  2. Click Edit Profile.
  3. Click Manage Other Texting Actions to:
    • Assign or reassign numbers.
    • Change the meeting associated with a number.
    • Update the selected item type.
    • Remove a texting action if it’s no longer needed.
    • Send personal To-Dos, which are 100% private and only visible to you.

This ensures you can adjust your Texting Actions settings as needed and manage them efficiently across different meetings.

Setting Up Text Actions in the Legacy version of Bloom Growth

From the Edit Meeting Section (Gear icon)

  1. Click Meetings in the top menu bar.
  2. Click on the Edit Meeting (gear icon) button to the right of your meeting
  3. Click Texting Actions on the left.
  4. Choose a number.
  5. Select the type of event (Issue, Headline or To-do).
  6. Click Save.
  7. Text the unique code to the phone number listed.
  8. Click Save.
  9. You will receive a response back confirming your new texting number (if you do not receive a response back, check the number and try again; if you receive an error message, check your code and try again).
  10. Be sure to store the phone number in your contacts stating which meeting it is for and whether it is for an Issue, Headline or To-do.
  11. Repeat the process for other items in the meeting (Issues, Headlines, and To-dos).

From Edit My Profile Page

  1. Click the drop-down by your name/icon.
  2. Click Edit My Profile.
  3. Click Manage Other Texting Actions on the bottom right.
  4. Click Create a new phone action using the button at the top right.
  5. Choose the meeting, text number, and action from the drop-down menus.
  6. Text the unique code to the phone number listed.
  7. Click Save.
  8. You will receive a response back confirming your new texting number (if you do not receive a response back, check the number and try again; if you receive an error message, check your code and try again).
  9. Be sure to store the phone number in your contacts stating which meeting it is for and whether it is for an Issue, Headline or To-do.
  10. Repeat the process for other items in the meeting (Issues, Headlines, and To-dos).

Individual Text-a-To-do

Send a text to your Personal To-do List (the Personal To-do is only present on your Workspace, not in a meeting). Personal To-do's are 100% private from other team members. 

  1. Click the drop-down by your name/icon.
  2. Click Edit My Profile.
  3. Click Setup Individual Text-a-Todo.
  4. Choose a number.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Text the unique code to the phone number listed.
  7. You will receive a response back confirming your new texting number (if you do not receive a response back, check the number and try again; if you receive an error message, check your code and try again).
  8. Be sure to store the phone number in your contacts stating that it is a personal To-do.

Remove a Text Action

  1. Click the drop-down by your name/icon.
  2. Click Edit My Profile.
  3. Click Manage Other Texting Actions on the bottom right.
  4. Use the garbage can icon to the right to remove.
  5. Click Save.
